Nowadays for businesses, it’s almost a necessity to think big straight from the beginning.
If you produce anything else than ordinary B2C product or service (many times in those cases too), you should be thinking going abroad some day. For us in Indoor, it was a no-brainer. There are just not enough fitness clubs and gyms inside the Finnish borders so we could do solely with them. No matter how beautiful country Finland is.
It’s not an easy job at all to find your customers, even prospects, from new market areas. For us, it has been very clear from day one that we are going exhibit FIBO in Cologne, Germany at some point. It’s the world biggest trade show for fitness, wellness and health.
Personally I’ve visited FIBO three times so far. Every of those trips were value creative. At that time I still was working in the clubs and doing my best to satisfy needs of our customers. From these events we found lots of new, exiting and refreshing ideas how we can do our jobs a bit better in future. One good talk was kept by rarely publicly speaking Rainer Schaller. Founder of the largest fitness chain in Europe McFit.
This year for me, it’s a whole different story. No easy-going days among other exhibition visitors anymore.
We are just finishing our exhibition preparations with GymPlus and getting ready for taking the next step. Maybe the biggest our small company has ever faced.
Of course we are delighted to be able to bring our gym utilization tracking service to European customers all ready now. We are more than ready to meet new people with different kind of situation in their gyms. Hopefully we’ll get many opportunities to show how machine vision and artificial intelligence can help fitness clubs provide better service to their customers and succeed in daily business.
I also want to acknowledge some parties which have made possible this leap of fate for us. It wouldn’t happen without a strong support of our local Centre for Economic Development and leverage from the EU that we’ve received. Big thanks to both of these organizations. We promise to do all the best in helping suppliers and gym owners to put people in motion.
